Rodney Pool - President
Rodney Pool was born in 1941 and raised in Houston, Texas. He attended Wharton Jr. College, University of Texas and University of Houston. Served in U.S. Army for 3 years and married Joyce, his wife for 59 years. He and Joyce have three children and five grandchildren.
After service he worked for Univac Corporation at NASA in Clear Lake, Texas and went to work for George Mitchell & Associates, which later became Mitchell Energy & Development. After 37 years he retired (kinda). In 1982, Rodney and his wife began Conroe Florist in Downtown Conroe. We began getting involved in the City of Conroe, Chamber of Commerce, Friends of Conroe the arts and other downtown efforts.
In 1999, we began purchasing buildings in the downtown area. After retiring in 2000, we decided to sell our home and move to one of our buildings in downtown, becoming the first resident living in downtown Conroe, where we currently live. In 2005 Joyce and I founded "The Corner Pub". The Corner Pub remains in our family today. Rodney has served on the State Texas Downtown Association for several terms and in 2022 was voted Downtowner of the Year. -
Farralyn Withrow - Vice President
Farralyn Withrow is the proud owner of Main Street Market Conroe, a vibrant community marketplace showcasing local artisans, makers, and small businesses. She is also the co-founder of Granny Camp CTX, a unique program that creates a space for women of all ages to learn new crafts and build community
With her deep commitment to community engagement and support for local entrepreneurship, Farralyn plays a vital role in strengthening the heart of Downtown Conroe. As Vice President of the Conroe Downtown Area Association, she brings creativity, leadership, and a passion for building connections that celebrate both tradition and growth. -
Debbie Krueger - Secretary
I am the Co-owner of Branding Iron Custom Goods, along with my son Keath Krueger. I have lived in Conroe for 65 years and raised my 3 children here. My son opened Branding Iron in Conroe, in 2004 and I joined him in 2007.
I love downtown Conroe and we moved our shop here in 2016. Growing up in Conroe was a wonderful experience and I love sharing that with newcomers, as well as those who have lived here for a while, but haven’t ventured downtown. -

Wayne Overby - Officer
Along with wife Carmen, Wayne has been with Carmelita’s since 1998. With their sons, Emmanuel & Alex, they continue serving Downtown Conroe to this day.
Wayne has been in the Restaurant business for 49 years around Lake Conroe. Upon graduating from The Art Institute of Houston, he was there as a Chef/Instructor for several years before creating Carmelita’s. -
Jason Franklin - Officer
A native of Conroe, Texas, Jason founded I Love Conroe to connect community and support local businesses, entrepreneurs, events, and more. With a professional background spanning technology, business, and real estate, Jason has consistently served Conroe through a commitment to servant leadership and a desire to make Conroe the best place it can be.
By focusing on innovation, improvement, collaboration, and responsible growth, Jason aims to serve local citizens and represent what they would like to see in Downtown Conroe, while contributing fresh perspectives to the Conroe Downtown Area Association (CDAA) Board and its initiatives. -
Mike Canada - Officer
Mike Canada was born in Conroe and is a lifetime resident. He has been a licensed Real Estate Broker since 1984 and has worked in many different Real Estate related areas including property taxes, appraisal of commercial and residential property, sales of land and commercial properties, etc. Mike opened Conroe Central Market ( antique mall ) in 2012 in the old JC Penny store building downtown on the square.
The building now houses approximately 50 vendors of vintage merchandise. Mike has previously served on the boards of CDAA and the downtown Main Street association and is still a member of CDAA -
Justine Frost - Officer
Originally from New Jersey (but don’t hold that against her!), Justine Frost and her daughter, Kayla, are proud to call Conroe home. As the owner of The Collective, an incubator for small businesses in Downtown Conroe, Justine is dedicated to empowering local entrepreneurs and fostering a thriving community.
The Collective is home to over 80 small businesses, playing a key role in helping them go from idea to concept to brick-and-mortar, providing the space and resources needed to grow. Through her work with the Conroe Downtown Area Association (CDAA) Board, Justine brings a fresh, innovative perspective that supports responsible growth and elevates the downtown area's potential. -
Ricky Lane - Officer
From being a Navy Firefighter, to working in the oil industry, the lumber industry, and even U-Haul, Ricky also was a firefighter for the Texas Forest Service [and was even Smokey The Bear!]. After an accident that left him badly burned, Ricky retired from the USPS.
He is a past member of the Willis Lion's Club and has been an active member of the Montgomery County Fair and Rodeo for the last 41 years. Him and his wife of 43 years managed Conroe Central Market until they opened their own antique store- Vintage reVisited Antiques in Downtown Conroe. He has lived in the Conroe / Willis area since 1970. -
Keath Krueger - Officer
Keath Krueger was born and raised in Conroe, Texas and is proud to make this city his home today. Keath and his wife (Alison) love raising their kids (Keali 18, Austin 14) in this beautiful community and the entire family loves to contribute any way they can to making Conroe a better place.
Keath has had several businesses in Conroe. His favorite place is Downtown Conroe where he helps to operate Branding Iron Custom Goods and 202 Main. Keath has also served on the Chamber of Commerce Board and the Stage Right Board.
